Position Location:

STC Client site located in the Maryland/Virginia/Washington, D.C., area.


Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines from an accredited institution plus five to ten years of relevant experience.  5-10 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.


Required Qualifications:

  • IAT Level III Certification
  • Experience with LINUX
  • Experience with RMF process
  • Experience with the application of STIGs 

Security Clearance Requirements:

Candidate is required to possess an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance and the ability to pass a CI polygraph.

Position Overview:

STC is seeking a Mid to Senior-level Security Engineerwith 5-10 years of relevant experience.  This position will be involved with:  

  • Security design of newly developed features to existing software baseline
  • Implementation and tracking of compliance and testing for multiple RMF packages across different security domains
  • Maintaining security procedures and policies for the program
  • Creating and maintaining security related testing of software baseline
  • Staying abreast of new security requirements and providing direction on implementation to systems 
  • Designing and implementing log analysis across multiple deployments

Candidate must have experience with:

  • Coding development
  • Working with cloud environments such as AWS
  • Working through the FedRAMP process
  • Working with enterprise applications, such as VMware, LDAP, IPA, etc.
  • Configuring SPLUNK, IDS solutions, Firewalls, and switches/routers
  • Working individually under little supervision
  • Creating and maintaining security process and procedural documentation
  • Communicating effectively and working within a multi-contractor development and management team
  • Adhering to ICD 503
  • Preparing and presenting technical information in the form of PowerPoint briefings and white papers.

Travel Demands:

Less than 10 percent travel anticipated
